Bangkok: Thai Airways International has launched an initiative to serve Thai street food aboard its flights, promoting the national cuisine as a cultural ambassador worldwide.
According to Thai News Agency, the national carrier’s ‘Streets to Sky’ project aims to introduce traditional Thai food to a global audience by serving it on Thai Airways’ aircraft. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to leverage Thai food as a form of Soft Power, enhancing cultural exchange and awareness among international passengers.
The airline has partnered with the ‘PintoHub’ platform to curate a selection of authentic Thai street food dishes, which will be available in economy class on all international flights departing from Bangkok. This initiative is designed not only to delight travelers with unique flavors but also to support local agriculture by sourcing quality ingredients from Thai farmers.
In addition to highlighting culinary tradition, the project seeks to promote economic opportunities for Thai farmers by p
roviding a platform for their products. The selected signature menus, featuring these traditional street foods, have been available to passengers since August.
