Surin: The 2nd Army Region of Thailand has successfully concluded discussions with Cambodia’s military leadership, resulting in a joint agreement on seven crucial points. Maj. Gen. Kitisak Thaworn, spokesman for the 2nd Army Region, disclosed that the meeting took place at the Chong Chom area in Surin Province, where representatives from both sides engaged in constructive dialogue.
According to Thai News Agency, the discussions, which commenced at 10:00 a.m., involved representatives from Thailand’s 2nd Army Region and the commander of Cambodia’s 4th Military Region. The meeting culminated in a seven-point agreement aimed at fostering peace and cooperation between the two military entities. The key points agreed upon include a ceasefire, refraining from shooting at civilians, halting additional power deployments, and prohibiting the movement of forces.
Further agreements involve facilitating the repatriation of the injured and deceased, setting up a four-person coordination team to address arising issues, and awaiting further discussions based on the outcomes of the GBC meeting scheduled for August 4, 2025. The discussions were reportedly brief, and the Thai commander’s van departed the Chong Chom checkpoint shortly after the meeting concluded.
