Thai Army Responds to Cambodian Troop Deployment with Security Concerns

Bangkok: The army has identified a security threat following Cambodia’s deployment of troops in several locations, particularly where firearms pose a risk to areas under Thai sovereignty. The Royal Thai Army is actively adjusting its troop deployment to address the evolving situation.

According to Thai News Agency, the concern escalated after the Facebook page “Sisaket News” published a photo accompanied by a message indicating that Cambodian cannons were positioned facing Thailand, near the Prasat Doen Tuan and Sattha Som areas. This revelation has caused alarm among the local population. Maj. Gen. Winthai Suvari, the army spokesman, confirmed that the Thai authorities have detected the presence of Cambodian troops in multiple areas, with support weapons capable of firing into Thai territories. This development is considered a significant security threat. In response, Thailand is making strategic adjustments to its troop placements to ensure the country’s safety and stability.
