Bangkok: The situation on the Thai-Cambodian border has remained stable, with no incidents reported, as Thailand and Cambodia continue their General Border Committee (GBC) meeting in Malaysia.
According to Thai News Agency, a report released by Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office and the Committee on the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation Administration (CCSA), confirmed that as of this morning, the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border remains normal. There have been no reports of violence across any of the seven border provinces. Security agencies remain vigilant, monitoring the area and deploying forces as per their operational plans.
The GBC meeting, which is being held from August 4-7, 2015, is currently in progress. The secretariat meeting is scheduled from August 4-6, 2015, and the main meeting will take place on August 7, 2015. This meeting aims to address and discuss border-related issues between the two nations.
