Thai Coffee Shop to Replace Agafe Coffee Shop at Ministry of Commerce

Nonthaburi: The Treasury Department has announced that the Thai Coffee Shop will replace the Agafe Coffee Shop, which is closed for renovations in the Ministry of Commerce area at Sanambin Airport.

According to Thai News Agency, the Treasury Department has clarified the situation regarding the change in coffee shop operations. Ms. Chotip Ruangwetdee, Deputy Director-General of the Treasury Department and Deputy Spokesperson for the department, explained that the Agafe Coffee Shop, after completing renovations, will be succeeded by the Phun Thai Coffee Shop. This decision falls under the Treasury Department’s responsibility for rent collection.

The Nonthaburi Treasury Office reported that in 2015, the Nonthaburi Treasury Department allowed the Department of Intellectual Property Welfare Committee to lease a Crown Property building located on the grounds of the Ministry of Commerce. This lease, identified under agreement number 3-NB-2558, dated September 1, 2015, covers approximately 8.80 square meters in the front elevator lobby on the third floor. The intention was to provide business welfare through the Agafe Coffee Shop.

The Department of Intellectual Property has communicated with the business operator, requesting a temporary cessation of operations due to planned renovations. The decision to transition to the Pun Thai Coffee Shop is under the purview of the Department of Business Development’s Welfare Committee, which will approve and then forward the matter to the Nonthaburi Treasury Office for leasing consideration. A formal request for leasing, dated September 3, 2025, has already been sent to the Nonthaburi Treasury Office.

Currently, preparations are underway for the new lease agreement, which will be made in the name of the Department of Business Development Welfare Committee, adhering to the Crown Property Act.
