According to the search rankings on the Traveloka platform, more than 80 of the top 100 most searched food and beverage experiences in the ASEAN region are in Thailand.

The data reinforces Thailand’s image as a strong food tourism destination, with the government setting a clear goal to push Thailand towards becoming a global food hub by 2026.

According to statistics from tourists searching for foodie experiences, Bangkok ranks number one in ASEAN, with over 60% of the most popular food and beverage experiences on Traveloka being in Bangkok. In addition, major tourist cities such as Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Phuket, and Hua Hin are also gaining a lot of attention, reflecting the diversity of foodie destinations throughout the country.

Meanwhile, the trend of food tourism continues to grow worldwide, and Thailand is considered a major destination that attracts tourists to travel to experience the tastes and culture of food in particular, which is in line with the government’s strategic plan to promote the food industry to grow by an average of 5% per year, with a target to generate income from food trade of more than 700 billion baht this year.
