According to Thai News Agency, at 9:10 a.m., a report from the Second Army Area revealed that a 2610 Ranger unit stepped on a landmine while patrolling the Chub Ta Mok base on the western side of Prasat Ta Muen Thom, which is within the barbed wire fence on the Thai side, at coordinates R51. One person was injured, identified as Sergeant Major Theeraphon Phiakhanthi, blood type AB, who had his left leg amputated and is currently being taken to the hospital.
It is expected that after the clash, Cambodian troops retreated and planted landmines before leaving Thai territory.
