Bangkok: The Thai women’s volleyball team has traveled to China to compete in the first Volleyball Nations League. ‘Coach Odd’ vows to do his best for the happiness of Thai people.
According to Thai News Agency, ‘Coach Odd’ Kiattipong Rachatagriangkrai, the head coach of the Thai women’s volleyball team, led the squad to participate in the 2025 Volleyball Nations League from June 4 to June 8 in China. The team, which departed this morning, is spearheaded by ‘Pure’ Ajcharaporn Kongyot as the captain, alongside notable players like ‘Bumbim’ Chatchu-on Moksri, ‘Beam’ Pimpichaya Kokram, who has recently clinched the German league title, and ‘Chompoo’ Pornpun Kerdprach, a recent US league champion. The line-up also includes Thatdao Nuekjang, Hattaya Bamrungsuk, Piyanuch Pannoy, and promising talent Kalyarat Khamwong. The departure was marked by a lively atmosphere, with Thai volleyball enthusiasts present at the airport to support the team.
Coach Odd addressed the media following the announcement of the 18-playe
r roster, noting that while there had been some criticism, he felt no need to justify the selections. The coaching staff had thoroughly evaluated which players would participate in the upcoming matches. He emphasized the comprehensive development of athletes and expressed satisfaction with the team’s preparation, which began in January. Coach Odd expressed hope that the team would deliver an outstanding performance to bring joy to Thai volleyball fans.
Team captain Ajcharaporn Kongyot assured that the team is ready to compete fiercely in the VNL. Rising star Kalyarat Khamwong, participating in the team for the first time, expressed excitement and a commitment to perform at her best if given the opportunity to play.
The Thai national team’s schedule includes matches against Poland on June 4 at 3:00 PM, Belgium on June 5 at 3:00 PM, Turkey on June 6 at 6:30 PM, and France on June 8 at 3:00 PM.
