Arlington: The Thai women’s volleyball team faced a challenging start to their campaign in the 2025 Women’s Volleyball Nations League as they lost 1-3 to the United States in their first match of Week 3. The match took place in Arlington, Texas, with the Thai team ranked 19th globally, going head-to-head against the host team, ranked 7th.
According to Thai News Agency, the two teams have faced each other seven times in the past, with Thailand yet to secure a victory. Led by head coach “Coach Oat” Kiattipong Rachatagriangkrai, the Thai team fielded a strong lineup, including captain Atcharaporn Kongyot, Pornpan Kerdprach, Thatdao Nuekjang, Wimonrat Thanaphan, Thanatcha Suksod, and Pimpichaya Kokram, with Piyanuch Pannoy serving as the libero.
The match saw a tightly contested first set, with the United States narrowly edging out Thailand 28-26. The Thai team rallied in the second set, securing a 25-21 victory and leveling the match at 1-1. Thailand’s next challenge will be against Germany, ranked 12th in the world, scheduled for the night of July 10 at 4:00 a.m. Thailand time.
