Bangkok: The Thai women’s volleyball team is set to compete in the second week of the 2025 Women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL) with high hopes and a strong lineup. The team arrived in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region from Suvarnabhumi Airport to begin their preparations for the upcoming matches scheduled between June 18 and 22. Under the leadership of team captain “Pure” Ajcharaporn Kongyot and head coach “Coach Oat” Kiattipong Rachatakraingkrai, the team aims to improve their standing in the league.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai team is physically ready and has thoroughly studied their opponents, although they acknowledge the challenge ahead, particularly against Team Japan. Japan, currently in first place, remains undefeated, having not lost a single set in their four matches, securing a full 12 points. Italy follows in second place with 11 points, having lost two sets in their victories. Turkey holds third place, having lost five sets but also remaining unbeaten, with 10 points. Meanwhile, Team Thailand is in 15th place, with one win and three losses, collecting 3 points from four matches.
The Thai women’s team faces a tough schedule in Week 2, starting with a match against Japan on June 18 at 4:00 PM, followed by a game against Italy on June 19 at 4:00 PM. They will then compete against the Czech Republic on June 21 at 3:30 PM and conclude their week with a match against Bulgaria on June 22 at 12:00 PM.
