Songkhla: The youth and people’s football competition, “Songkhla Cup 2025,” concluded with Hat Yai securing victories in four categories, earning the right to represent Thailand in the “Captain Tsubasa Cup” in Japan. The event, held under the collaboration of the Songkhla Provincial Tourism and Sports Office and the Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization, featured teams from every district competing in four age groups: Under 12, Under 16, General Public, and Senior.
According to Thai News Agency, this year’s event marked the second consecutive year of the “Songkhla Cup,” drawing significant participation and enthusiasm from the community. The Under 12 category was a focal point, as the champion team would advance to the international “Captain Tsubasa Cup” early next year.
In the Under 12 category, Hat Yai triumphed over Ratthaphum with a 3-1 victory, securing their place in the prestigious competition in Japan. The Under 16 team from Hat Yai also impressed, defeating Khlong Hoi Khong 4-0 to claim their championship title.
In the General Public category, the match between Songkhla and Hat Yai ended in a 1-1 draw during regular time. Hat Yai emerged victorious in a penalty shootout, winning 4-3. Finally, in the Senior category, Hat Yai continued their winning streak, defeating Sadao 2-1 to clinch another championship.
