Bangkok: Meteorology reveals that the upper part of Thailand will remain cool, while the southern region will see more rain. The Meteorological Department has announced that the upper part of Thailand will have cool weather with fog in the morning. It has warned that the monsoon will cause more rain in the South, with heavy rain in some areas.
According to Thai News Agency, the easterly and southeasterly winds will bring moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand to cover the lower Northeastern, Eastern, and Central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the upper Southern region. This will result in thunderstorms in these areas, with heavy rain expected in some areas of the lower Central and Southern regions. Meanwhile, a high-pressure area or a weak cold air mass is covering the North, causing fog in the upper part of Thailand in the morning. The Northern region will continue to experience cool weather in the mornings.
People in the upper part of Thailand are advised to take care
of their health due to the changing weather conditions and exercise caution when traveling through fog-prone areas. Farmers should prepare protective measures to safeguard agricultural products from potential rain-related damage. The weak northeasterly monsoon is affecting the Gulf of Thailand and the Southern region, leading to thunderstorms in some parts of the South. The Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are experiencing weak waves, with heights less than 1 meter, but areas with thunderstorms may see waves higher than 2 meters. Sailors are advised to avoid navigating through areas with thunderstorms.
In addition, during 17-21 November 2024, a new high-pressure area or moderate cold air mass from China is expected to cover the upper part of Thailand and the South China Sea. Initially, this will cause rain and thunderstorms in the upper part of Thailand, followed by a drop in temperature and cool mornings with strong winds. The temperature in the Northeast will decrease by 2-4 degrees Celsius, while the
North, Central, and East will see a temperature drop of 1-3 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the weak northeast monsoon over the upper Gulf of Thailand and the upper South will intensify, resulting in increased rainfall and heavy rain in some areas of the South.
