According to Thai News Agency, Government Spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat announced the outcome of the discussions between Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, The Honorable Robert F. Godec, this morning. The Prime Minister addressed the U.S.’s role as an observer in the negotiations between Thailand and Cambodia at the GBC and JBC meetings. Thailand reaffirmed its commitment to the four-point position proposed to Cambodia and urged Cambodia to act with sincerity to ensure serious negotiations, tangible progress, and results that truly benefit both countries and their peoples.
The Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson added that the Prime Minister also discussed cooperation in suppressing scam networks, particularly the exchange of scammer network databases with the United States to ensure effective and systematic suppression. A meeting was scheduled for early November where a delegation from the United States will discuss scams with the Prime Minister to establish concrete cooperation guidelines for suppressing scam networks.
