Thais Embrace Technology to Celebrate Mother’s Day

Bangkok: Children in Thailand continue to cherish Mother’s Day, with many opting to express their love through text messages and phone calls.

According to Thai News Agency, a recent survey by North Bangkok Poll highlights that most Thais still hold Mother’s Day in high regard, with a noticeable shift towards online expressions of gratitude. The survey, titled “Views on Mother’s Day in the Modern Era,” reveals that 64 percent of Thais consider Mother’s Day very important, and an additional 20 percent find it somewhat important.

The poll further indicates that while the concept of “mother” has evolved over time, its core essence remains unchanged for 62 percent of the respondents. The survey sheds light on the changing dynamics of expressing love, with digital channels becoming increasingly popular. The top five methods for showing appreciation on Mother’s Day include sending text messages or making phone calls (85 percent), taking mothers out for meals or trips (66.7 percent), verbal expressions of love in person (55 percent), posting on social media (50 percent), and assisting with housework or offering special care (33.3 percent).
