Thaksin Shinawatra Departs for Singapore Without Family on Private Flight

Bangkok: Thaksin Shinawatra flew to Singapore with a group of five on a private flight, with no family members traveling with him. In the case of news that Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra left the Kingdom via Don Mueang Airport, Pol. Maj. Gen. Cherngron Rimphidi, Commander of Immigration Bureau 2, responded to media inquiries that the news was true. On September 4, 2025, at 4:50 PM, the Immigration Checkpoint at Don Mueang Airport received a notification from MJET Company that a passenger would be departing the Kingdom on a private plane to Singapore.

According to Thai News Agency, Thaksin Shinawatra’s name appeared as a passenger on Flight T7GTS, a private flight bound for Singapore. A system check revealed no court order prohibiting him from leaving the Kingdom, nor any criminal arrest warrants for him.

Regarding the court order banning travel outside the Kingdom in a case filed by the public prosecutor for jointly defaming, insulting, or expressing malice toward the King, Queen, the Heir-apparent, or the Regent, and for jointly entering any information into a computer system that violates national security, the Criminal Court letter No. SY 300.002/Kor.350/2568 dated August 22, 2025, has been issued revoking the travel ban.

Upon detailed investigation, it was discovered that Mr. Thaksin had no arrest warrant or court order prohibiting him from leaving the country in any other cases. Immigration officers therefore permitted him to leave the country in accordance with the Immigration Act of 1979, as per their authority. The plane departed from Don Mueang Airport at 7:17 PM.

The operation was carried out in accordance with the authority, regulations, and laws as usual. It is confirmed that no family members were traveling with the group.
