TMII follows government’s directive on Christmas and New Year

State-run enterprise managing Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Jakarta, has confirmed that it will follow the government’s directive on the plan to apply Public Activity Restriction (PPKM) level three during the Christmas and New Year.

“We, the TWC (PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, & Ratu Boko), will follow the government’s order. I believe that the government has thoroughly considered every aspect,” PT TWC’s Presidential Director, Edy Setijono, noted here on Thursday.

Setijono noted that the company was ready to take precautionary measure in order to prevent a spike in cases, especially since TMII will remain open during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

“We will limit the quota, so that there would not be any crowding. Thus, our focus will not be commercialization during this period. Our focus is to declare that our destination is safe to visit,” he affirmed.

Visitors’ awareness during the Christmas and New Year holidays is crucial to ensure that health protocols are followed optimally, he emphasized.

“Just so it happens that our citizens exhibit good conduct,” he noted.

Setijono also expects that the people’s compliance to following the PPKM will finally help to end the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Thus, in 2022, we will start to move,” he expounded.

Based on the graphic data, the number of TMII visitors increased in August, September, and October this year, he highlighted. This shows that the wheels of the economy are starting to run again after the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Hopefully, this would expedite recovery. Let us hope that this year’s Christmas and New Year would not be a nightmare again like Eid al-Fitr,” he stated.

Earlier, the government had confirmed that PPKM Level Three will be applied across all regions during the Christmas and New Year celebrations to prevent a spike in COVID-19 cases.

All regions in Indonesia, including those where PPKM Level One and Two are imposed, will apply PPKM level three.
