Lopburi: Father arrested for putting pesticide in milk bottle for 4-month-old baby to drink, causing death; police sent urine sample for testing, found purple color.
Lam Sonthi Police Station in Lopburi Province arrested Mr. Chatmongkol, 36, after he carried off his 4-month-old daughter who was sleeping in a mosquito net. The mother and grandfather noticed something was wrong and went looking for him. They found him in a hut about 500 meters from his house. The child was breathing abnormally and struggling, so they took him to the hospital, where he later died.
According to Thai News Agency, the investigation of Mr. Chatmongkol revealed that initially, he provided an incoherent statement, claiming he intended to drink poison, but his hand touched the nipple of his child’s milk bottle, resulting in the child being poisoned as well. He later confessed to putting insecticide powder in the milk bottle for his child to drink. After questioning, the police sent him for a urine test, which came back purple. Additi

The motive is believed to be resentment against his father-in-law and frequent arguments with the child’s mother, which led to accumulated resentment and hallucination from drug use, resulting in the incident.
