Trat: Entering the third day of evacuating residents from Trat Province to the evacuation center, people were found to be more relaxed and wrote heart-shaped notes of encouragement for all soldiers to be safe. Reporters surveyed the area today and found residents appearing more cheerful and relaxed. Last night, soldiers from the Marine Division at Camp Taksin played music for the public to relax. This morning, donors brought ice cream and snacks to distribute to children.
According to Thai News Agency, first aid units are providing comprehensive care to the public. This morning, two patients required further treatment at the hospital: a mother experiencing labor pains and a villager who needed a heart checkup due to three nights of insomnia. Initial tests revealed high blood pressure and an abnormally fast heart rate. First aid officers attributed the condition to stress caused by worrying about her pets. She also continued to express her desire to return home and hope the situation would calm down quickly.
First aid officers also said that since the evacuation, patients, both children and adults, have been hospitalized every day. Children typically present with fevers, while adults experience body aches and dizziness. On the first day of the evacuation, three people were hospitalized, three yesterday, and two this morning, although their symptoms were mild.
And today, officials handed out heart-shaped pieces of paper to each citizen, with a message of encouragement written on it for the soldiers on the front lines. Many people wrote messages of encouragement, including “Cheer up for all soldiers, keep fighting!” and “May all soldiers be safe.”
The current obstacle we’re facing is insufficient donation funds to purchase kitchen gas, as four tanks of gas are required for cooking each day. Officials are currently rationing the gas.
