TTB Waives Loans and Provides Support for Soldiers Affected by Thai-Cambodian Border Clashes


Bangkok: TMBThanachart Bank (ttb) has announced a supportive initiative for soldiers and their families impacted by the recent clashes on the Thai-Cambodian border. The bank has decided to waive all principal and interest on loans held with them for the soldiers involved in the conflict.



According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Piti Tantikuman, CEO of ttb, expressed the bank’s condolences for the loss faced by the Army personnel and their families due to the unrest in the border area. Acknowledging the soldiers’ sacrifice in defending Thailand’s sovereignty, ttb has taken steps to provide financial relief and support to the affected families.



For the families of four soldiers who tragically lost their lives in the clashes between July 24-29, 2025, ttb will waive both principal and interest on all outstanding loans with the bank. This measure aims to alleviate the financial burden on the families, allowing them to move forward with greater confidence.



Furthermore, ttb, in collaboration with Nawakit Insurance Public Company Limited, has extended life insurance coverage with special welfare rights. Six soldiers who receive their salaries through ttb accounts will receive financial assistance of 150,000 baht each. Additionally, ttb, together with Thanachart Insurance Public Company Limited, will provide financial support of 100,000 baht each to seven soldiers holding ttb All Free accounts.



For Army personnel still serving in the border area, ttb has shown its support by providing 30,000 bottles of drinking water and essential items, including 1,000 sets of shirts, pants, socks, and face masks. These contributions aim to assist soldiers in fulfilling their duties under challenging conditions.
