Aranyaprathet: Burapha forces intercepted Thais who illegally crossed the border from Cambodia in one night, arresting two groups of seven people in Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province. The first group consisted of three women who were arrested in Ban Khlong Luek. During initial questioning, they stated that they were invited to work as housekeepers in a casino building in Poipet. However, they were later forced by their Chinese employer to open a bank account to use as a mule account. They therefore decided to flee back to Thailand, paying each Cambodian person 100 baht as a guide before being apprehended by authorities.
According to Thai News Agency, the second group consisted of one man and three women who were arrested in the Kut Hin area. They voluntarily admitted to traveling to Poipet to participate in the mule account opening process. However, when the accounts were frozen and became useless, the gang abandoned them. They had to pay 2,500 baht each to find their own way back to Thailand.
