Urgent Hunt for Murderer Who Cut Off Finger to Rob 67-Year-Old Woman in Rayong.

Rayong: Police are hunting down a brutal murderer who cut off the fingers of a 67-year-old woman and stole her belongings before dumping the body in a palm plantation in Wang Chan District, Rayong Province. Locals reported seeing a suspicious white sedan driving into the area where the body was found.

According to Thai News Agency, the body of Mrs. Wanna, aged 67, was discovered on a dirt road in a palm plantation at Village No. 3, Pa Yup Subdistrict, Wang Chan District. The examination revealed a wound on her face from a hard object, a slashed wound on the back of her head, and both ring fingers severed. A suspicious white sedan was seen in the vicinity, suspected to be involved in the crime. Her daughter, Ms. Wannarat, aged 35, reported her missing and noted that Mrs. Wanna was last seen wearing valuable jewelry.

Ms. Wannarat disclosed that her mother was wearing a 5-baht gold necklace, a 3-baht bracelet, two diamond rings, and had money in her pocket at the time of her disappearance. Mrs. Wanna was known
for her kindness and often made merit at temples. On the day of the incident, she visited a temple in Sattahip District. After she went missing, a report was filed at Sattahip Police Station. Her body was later found in Wang Chan District, prompting Ms. Wannarat to urge the authorities for justice.

The Sattahip Police Station is currently examining security footage, which shows Mrs. Wanna entering a white Toyota sedan with a Chonburi license plate at 12:58 on November 15. The vehicle belongs to Ms. Kamonwan, aged 57, who is a female friend of the deceased and matches the description of the car seen by villagers.

Ms. Thongmuan, 68, a friend of Mrs. Wanna, provided a statement to the police. She recounted that after the merit-making event, Mrs. Wanna received a phone call, identified as being from a female friend, before leaving her house and subsequently disappearing. Ms. Thongmuan expressed shock upon learning about the murder.

Investigators from Sattahip Police Station have communicated with the Region 2
Investigation Unit in Chonburi Province to track down Ms. Kamonwan for questioning. She has reportedly turned off her phone and fled. An arrest warrant is anticipated to facilitate her questioning and potential legal action.
