Vendors are delighted that the stall rental fee is free, which helps reduce costs and the burden of living expenses.

The Minister of Commerce visited the area to listen to vendors after the 4-month waiver of stall rental fees for vendors in the areas of the Ministry of Commerce and government offices. Everyone was happy that the free stall rental approach really helped reduce costs and the burden of living expenses, which significantly reduced expenses during the economic downturn.

Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, along with Mr. Napintorn Srisanpang, Deputy Minister of Commerce, walked the Ministry of Commerce Welfare Market yesterday (9 August 2014), talking to people who came to shop and vendors in the market in a friendly manner and asking about the readiness of the shops to register for digital wallets. The vendors thanked Mr. Phumtham for waiving the rental fee for the stalls for 4 months, which significantly reduced expenses during the economic downturn.

However, the Ministry of Commerce has been ordered to help reduce costs for entrepreneurs in the Ministry of Commerce from
August to November 2024 by waiving monthly space usage fees for 43 entrepreneurs in the Ministry of Commerce Welfare Food Center and waiving rental fees for 993 stalls at the Ministry of Commerce Welfare Market and 1,047 entrepreneurs in the office building and third-floor area for 4 months. After listening to feedback from vendors, they want the government to have continuous policies to further reduce costs for small vendors.

On August 20, the government led by Prime Minister Settha Thavisin, the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and related agencies will jointly kick off the government’s economic recovery project, including helping to reduce costs for small entrepreneurs, organizing a nationwide commercial market, and offering a large discount on products. This will help increase the money in the pockets of small entrepreneurs, increase their liquidity,
increase their income, and help reduce their cost of living while people across the country are waiting for money from the 10,000 baht top-up project via digital wallets, which is expected to be implemented in the fourth quarter of this year.-541.
