Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan Engages with Vietnamese Community in Norway

Oslo – During her official visit to Norway, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan took the opportunity to meet with the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community on the evening of November 24. This interaction is part of her efforts to strengthen ties with the Vietnamese diaspora and acknowledge their contributions abroad.

According to Vietnam News Agency, Dinh Nho Hung, the Vice President was informed that the Vietnamese community in Norway, numbering over 23,000 individuals, stands as the largest in Northern Europe. Ambassador Hung emphasized the community’s significant contributions to Norway’s socio-economic and cultural development. He also highlighted their active involvement in investment and charity activities in Vietnam and their support for the Embassy’s foreign affairs initiatives.

Vice President Xuan expressed her expectations and confidence in the overseas Vietnamese (OVs) in Norway to uphold the tradition of solidarity. She encouraged them to work collectively towards building a robust community and to act as a vital link in promoting Vietnamese culture and heritage internationally.

Furthermore, the Vice President urged the Embassy to provide comprehensive support to the OVs, ensuring their needs and aspirations are understood. This effort is aimed at enabling the Embassy to propose relevant solutions and initiatives to authorities in Vietnam, thereby enhancing the connection and support system for the Vietnamese diaspora in Norway.
