KAMPONG CHHNANG: The defence ministries of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia have initiated a collaborative search and rescue exercise, focusing on “Rescue and relief activities at collapsed structures.” The exercise began on November 18 at the Royal Gendarmerie of Cambodia Training Centre, located in the mountainous Chum Sen Rikreay area in Kampong Chhnang province, Cambodia.
According to Vietnam News Agency, this joint exercise aims to enhance the capabilities and coordination among the three countries’ military forces in responding to natural disasters and other emergencies. The strategic location of the training center provides a challenging environment that simulates real-life scenarios of structural collapse, allowing participating teams to practice and refine their search and rescue techniques.
The exercise is a significant step in strengthening regional cooperation and preparedness for handling complex disaster situations. It also underscores the commitment of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia to work together
in ensuring the safety and security of their citizens in times of crisis. The event is expected to build stronger ties and improve mutual understanding among the nations involved.
