According to Vietnam News Agency, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan’s visit to Norway featured prominently in the day’s news. During her visit, she met with Crown Prince Haakon Magnus in Oslo on November 23. Additionally, she held discussions with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, focusing on cooperation and ways to strengthen the friendship and partnership between Vietnam and Norway. Xuan also met with the President of the Norwegian Parliament, Masud Gharahkhani, to further diplomatic relations.
In national developments, the Government of Vietnam agreed to join the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships’ Ballast Water and Sediments (BWM). A Government resolution issued on November 23 authorizes the Ministry of Transport to work with relevant ministries, agencies, and localities to implement the convention.
Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, Nguyen Duc Hai, presented four recommendations at the 31st Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-31) in Manila. Lastly, the Vietnam-Eurasia Trade Forum was held in Hanoi with the theme ‘Adapt to the Market Context, Unleash Potential’. The forum noted a slight decrease in trade between Vietnam and Eurasian countries in the first nine months of the year, totaling 9 billion USD.
