Havana – A delegation from Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, led by Deputy Minister Major General Nguyen Van Long, conducted a working visit to Cuba from November 15-18.
According to Vietnam News Agency, The visit included talks with Cuban Minister of the Interior Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas, where both parties evaluated the outcomes of the cooperation agreement signed in 2018. The discussions reviewed the recent partnership between the two ministries, focusing on strengthening cooperation in security protection and trans-national crime control.
This collaboration aims to ensure social order and safety in both countries. They also agreed to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels and experts across various areas, while accelerating the implementation of agreed contents between the two ministries. Major General Long visited the Russian-Cuban Fire and Rescue Specialists Training Centre, presenting it with fire prevention and rescue equipment.
Additionally, the Vietnamese delegation paid homage to Vietnam’s and Cuba’s historical figures, laying flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Park in Havana, visiting the monument commemorating Cuban hero Che Guevara, and the Fidel Castro Centre, which honors the legacy of the Cuban Commander-in-chief.
