Yala: Officials are urgently hunting down the perpetrators who ambushed and shot a village headman in Yala, injuring him. A gunman used an M16 rifle to shoot and injure the village headman of Khuean Bang Lang Subdistrict, Bannang Sata District, Yala Province, before fleeing the area. Police are urgently tracking down the perpetrator and are sending the bullet casings for forensic examination to determine if they have been used in any other crimes.
According to Thai News Agency, officials are rushing to investigate the bullet casings of a suspect who used an M16 rifle with a scope to ambush “Phu Yai Ma,” the owner of a durian stall in Yala Province, injuring him. The incident occurred at the durian purchasing stall in Ban Ku Bae Purong, Bannang Sareng Subdistrict, Muang Yala District, in the late hours of August 11th.
Yala Provincial Police investigators thoroughly inspected the scene and found two M16 rifle shell casings lying on the grass. The casings were a scoped M16 rifle. After the incident, the perpetrators fled the area. They are currently searching for the perpetrators and sending the shell casings for testing to determine if they were used in any other crimes.
The cause is under investigation to determine whether it was a personal matter or a cause of unrest in the area. The latest update on the injured person’s condition is that they are now safe.
