VP commends community training centers’ plan to become independent

Vice President Ma’ruf Amin praised the independence agenda of community training centers (BLKs) initiated by Manpower Minister, Ida Fauziyah, by forming a national coordination forum called BLK Komunitas.

Amin also invited local governments, businesses, and industries as well as communities to synergize in the effort to make BLK Komunitas independent in facilitating closer access to improving the competence of human resources.

“This is a major task for us all to ready good management, facilities, and infrastructure,” the vice president noted in a statement received in Bandarlampung on Thursday.

Amin remarked that preparations for boosting BLK’s self-reliance plan encompassed adept human resources for strengthening the existing ecosystem of innovation.

Meanwhile, Fauziyah is optimistic that the independence pursued by BLK can be realized immediately through concrete actions to achieve a self-reliant and professional institution.

BLK’s national coordination forum, formed since June 2021, is expected to conduct its function as a companion, so BLKs can be sustainable in being the institutions that produce competitive manpower and support the expansion of employment opportunities.

Furthermore, Agung Nurrohmat, the director of Training Institute at the Ministry’s Directorate General of Vocational Training and Productivity Coaching, revealed the measures taken by the forum aim to accelerate the realization of independence of BLKs, including establishing strategic partnerships with various stakeholders.

Moreover, the BLK forum has drawn up a roadmap for its independence, determined the 25 best BLKs for transformation into entrepreneurial incubators, and established 44 BLK Komunitas regional coordination forums throughout Indonesia.

He added that strategies for supporting the independence of BLK Komunitas are empowering the institution’s data and information systems and developing partnerships, forging collaborations, conducting re-designation, and holding innovative training.

Finally, the strategies adopted comprise enhancing the capacity of instructors, issuing certification for graduates, integrating through internship programs, and rebranding.
