Wage subsidy assistance reaches 69.05% of workers in NTT

Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) – Wage subsidy assistance (BSU) has reached 69.05 percent of the 38,426 targeted beneficiaries in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), the Kupang main branch office of state-owned postal company PT Pos Indonesia reported on Friday.

“The realization of distribution has surpassed 50 percent and is close to 70 percent,” executive general manager of the office, Herryyanto Spiro Gampamole, said.

According to him, the total allocation for the BSU distribution in East Nusa Tenggara stands at around Rp23 billion.

So far, the assistance has been distributed to 26,535 beneficiaries. Thus, Rp15.9 billion has been disbursed in total.

“Currently, there are 11,891 people or Rp7.2 billion left of the BSU allocation for workers in the NTT area,” he informed.

He appealed to those who have not taken the aid to visit any post office with their ID card and the membership card of the Workers Social Security Agency’s (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s) program.

Workers must collect the assistance themselves and cannot be represented by their family members or friends, he added.

According to him, the BSU distribution has been extended till November 30, 2022, so that all targeted beneficiaries can receive the assistance.

The government is providing wage subsidy assistance of Rp600 thousand to help eligible workers maintain their purchasing power amid an increase in the prices of goods due to a rise in fuel prices.

The targeted beneficiaries are workers who meet several requirements: they are Indonesian nationals, have been active participants in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s program as of July 2022, earn a maximum of Rp3.5 million per month, and are not state civil apparatus (ASN) or members of the Indonesian Military (TNI) or National Police (Polri).
