Bangkok: The War Elephants U23 secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Malaysia, propelling them into the final round of the 2026 Asian Cup. Kokhana Kham-yok emerged as the standout player, netting both goals for the Thai national U23 team and ensuring their advancement in the tournament.

According to Thai News Agency, the final match of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers, Group F, saw the Thai national team face off against the Malaysian national team at Thammasat Stadium. The Thai team needed a win to secure their place in the final round. Kokhana Kham-yok opened the scoring for Thailand in the 34th minute, but Malaysia quickly equalized through Ayzaar Hardy in the 40th minute. The game remained tense until Kham-yok scored the decisive goal in injury time, sealing a 2-1 victory for the Thai side.

The Thai national team ended the qualifiers with 7 points, equal to Lebanon, who triumphed over Mongolia with a 3-0 victory. However, Thailand’s superior goal difference granted them a place in the final round of the AFC U23 Championship in Saudi Arabia.
