State-owned construction company PT Waskita Karya is expecting the value of new contracts from government and private company projects to reach Rp25-30 trillion (around US$1.7-2.1 billion) in 2022.
“Waskita Karya has projected the corporation’s new contract value in 2022 at Rp25-30 trillion,” Waskita Operation Director III Gunadi said on Friday.
New corporation-initiated projects and conventional projects from state and private corporations in 2022 would provide new contract opportunities for Waskita Karya, the director informed.
Meanwhile, he pegged Waskita Karya’s total contract value from projects handled in the first semester of 2021 at Rp52.87 trillion (around US$3.7 billion), an increase of 13.93 percent compared to the year-ago period.
The total new contract value for this year’s first semester was Rp3.12 trillion (around US$218 million), a decline of 61.65 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, Gunadi informed.
Meanwhile, the total contract value of government and state corporation projects handled by Waskita Karya in the first semester of 2021 was Rp2.04 trillion (around US$142 million), an increase of 4.50 percent from the year-ago period, he said.
The total contract value of private corporations’ projects was Rp301.84 trillion (around US$21.1 billion), an increase of 98.45 percent from the same period of 2020, when the value was recorded at Rp152.1 trillion (around US$10.6 billion), he added.
Earlier, Waskita Karya Operation Director II Bambang Rianto had confirmed that the company had inked a new contract worth Rp460 billion with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (around US$32.3 million) for the Loji-Banger River flood and coastal flooding control project, which is being executed in 720 calendar days (from September 30, 2021 to October 3, 2023).
