Weerit Steps Down as Governor of State Railway of Thailand

Bangkok: “Weerit” has officially resigned from his role as Governor of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), marking the end of his tenure with a heartfelt farewell to the railway staff across various departments. On his last day, Mr. Wirat Amrapal made rounds to express his gratitude and bid adieu to the employees, leaving a lasting impression.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Wirat Amrapal visited all departments and sections within the SRT on October 29, 2015, to personally thank the employees for their hard work and support during his time as Governor. The atmosphere was one of warmth as staff members gathered to offer flowers, share farewells, and capture commemorative photos with him. Many expressed their appreciation for his dedication and approachable demeanor, with some even hoping for his return to the position in the future.

Reflecting on his tenure, Mr. Wirat shared, “Over the past year, I have been extremely honored and proud to have worked with all of my SRT colleagues to resolve the organization’s long-standing problems. Furthermore, I have helped push the organization forward toward its goals, particularly in developing SRT personnel, who are a crucial human resource for the SRT’s sustainable advancement.”

In his parting words, he added, “I sincerely thank everyone for their service. From now on, I will continue to support and encourage the State Railway of Thailand to develop the organization into an efficient transportation system and continue to be the primary choice for travel and transportation in the country.”
