Pontianak, West Kalimantan The West Kalimantan provincial government has distributed 20 thousand basic food packages to people from the lower socioeconomic class as part of efforts to control inflation and mitigate its impact.

“This is a provincial government program to control inflation. We are providing social assistance to people who need it, as many as 20 thousand packages (have been allocated for providing assistance) all over West Kalimantan,” Governor of West Kalimantan, Sutarmidji, informed in Pontianak on Saturday.

He said that he made working visits to several areas to distribute the food packages because his administration aimed to complete the distribution of basic food items by September.
