The West Nusa Tenggara Public Museum will hold an exhibition to enliven the World Superbike (WSBK) event at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit from November 11–13, 2022.
“This exhibition is an alternative for spectators, including tourists visiting West Nusa Tenggara, who will watch WSBK at the Mandalika Circuit,” head of the West Nusa Tenggara Museum, Ahmad Nuralam, said here on Wednesday.
The exhibition will be held from November 9–15 at the West Nusa Tenggara Public Museum Hall in Mataram city.
Nuralam said the exhibition will trace the development of tools and technologies used by humans over time.
“The exhibition is also a place to promote the culture and history of West Nusa Tenggara, such as introducing the three major tribes that inhabit the two big islands in the province,” he added.
The exhibition aligns with the priority industrialization program carried out by the West Nusa Tenggara provincial government, he said.
Technological tools created by the Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA) and vocational high schools (SMKs) across the province will be showcased at the exhibition, too.
“The exhibition will display the evolution of technological equipment from the era of mechanical drives to the era of electric drives, such as a horse-driven dogcart, an electric dogcart, a pedaled bicycle to an electric bicycle,” he informed.
The exhibition is divided into three sub-themes, with the first being home appliance technology such as hand axes, coconut grating machines, scales, and wall clocks.
Meanwhile, sub-theme two will cover technology used in production. In operation, simple technology requires a lot of human power while modern technology uses machines and does not require a lot of human labor.
“The collections are yarn spinners, looms, sewing machines, and seeds grinding machinery,” he said.
Further, sub-theme three covers transportation technology used by humans to travel from one location to another. The history of transportation modes dates back to the discovery of wheels around 3,500 BC.
