Young Man Arrested for Motorcycle Theft and Sale to Teenager

Bangkok: Police from Khok Khram Police Station arrested a suspect who stole a woman’s motorcycle and sold it for 18,000 baht. Police at Khok Khram Police Station received a report of a robbery on October 3rd. The victim said the perpetrator held her up with a knife and threatened her to hand over the keys to her motorcycle before fleeing on foot. After receiving the report, investigators tracked down the perpetrator and apprehended him at approximately 5:00 PM on October 4th in the middle of Thonglor Soi 25, while Mr. Phongpakorn, or Bom, 34, and Mr. Wattana were negotiating the purchase of the motorcycle.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Bom confessed to selling the motorcycle used in the robbery for 18,000 baht from the victim. Police charged him with “nighttime robbery with a weapon, detaining another person without liberty or physical restraint, carrying a weapon in a city or village, intimidating others, or receiving stolen property.” They also filed a complaint against Mr. Wathana for “receiving stol
en property.”

Preliminary investigations into Mr. Bom’s criminal history revealed that he is wanted on a warrant from the Thonburi Criminal Court for theft at Tha Kham Police Station, and on a warrant from the Dusit District Court for embezzlement at Phaya Thai Police Station. He also has a criminal record for drug offenses and theft, totaling 10 cases in various areas of Bangkok, from 2015 to the present.
