Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, emphasized the necessity of securing public trust in the upcoming Kanchanaburi by-election. Rejecting the notion that the election serves as a mere precursor, Anutin highlighted the presence of existing MPs in the constituency and underscored the importance of hard work over winning or losing. This statement follows a Dusit Poll indicating that the Bhumjaithai Party ranked first, surpassing the Orange Party for the first time.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin, who also leads the Bhumjaithai Party, expressed his confidence in the party’s longstanding influence in Kanchanaburi Province. He remarked, “We planted our flag a long time ago because Mr. Yotsawat Mapaisansin, a Kanchanaburi MP, has served for several terms.” Anutin reiterated the significance of delivering results that foster confidence and trust among the public, emphasizing that the people will decide the party’s future.
Anutin also addressed the role of Ms. Wisuda Wichiensin, the Bhumjaithai Party candidate for the Kanchanaburi District 4 by-election. He dismissed the idea of the election being an appetizer, asserting it is the main course, a legacy upheld since the time of her father. He emphasized that the residents of Kanchanaburi will have both a minister and an MP dedicated to serving them.
The Suan Dusit Poll’s findings, which placed the Bhumjaithai Party ahead of the Prachachon Party, were also discussed by Anutin. He stated, “We never think about winning or losing. We win over ourselves. We are not lazy. We must work hard. We think of the people first.” Anutin stressed that the party’s focus is on benefiting the country and its people, with all members being instilled with the belief that the citizens are their benefactors.
Looking ahead to future elections, Anutin mentioned the dissolution of the House of Representatives on January 31st, indicating that all parties must be prepared for elections at any time. The Bhumjaithai Party, he assured, is ready every day.
In terms of party expansion, Anutin revealed that the Bhumjaithai Party remains open-minded, inviting individuals who believe they have the ability to serve the nation to join their ranks.
