Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, announced his intention to file a complaint against Bhumtham under Section 112, clarifying that this action is independent of his party. He also addressed the complaint filed by Supachai under Section 157, which calls for an investigation into whether the complaint was filed on behalf of the party, amidst an eventful day. Anutin conveyed a positive stance on Pheu Thai’s nomination of Chaikasem for the prime ministerial race, highlighting the benefits of having multiple options.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin arrived at Parliament House at 9:00 a.m., choosing not to engage with questions about his concerns regarding the upcoming prime ministerial vote scheduled for September 5th. When approached by reporters for an interview, he declined, stating, “No, not yet,” and attempted to sidestep further questions.
When questioned about the necessity of resolving issues with the Prachachon Party after the Bhumjaithai Party’s delayed return to Parliament for voting on the People’s Party’s bill on September 3rd, Anutin explained that the matter had been clarified. He mentioned discussions with the Prachachon Party about establishing a coordination team to strengthen their collaboration, given their recent transition to the opposition. Anutin emphasized the need for a coordination team between the Prachachon and Bhumjaithai Parties, referring to their current joint opposition.
Addressing whether the People’s Party disagreed with the Section 112 complaints filed by the Bhumjaithai Party against Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Anutin asserted that Section 112 was unrelated to the Bhumjaithai Party.
Anutin explained that he would verify the basis of the Bhumjaithai Party’s complaint filing, as he was uncertain if it was made under the party’s name. Reporters informed him that the complaint was lodged by Supachai Jaisamut, the party’s registrar. Anutin expressed frustration, remarking, “I’m so upset,” and noted his preoccupation with other matters the previous day.
Commenting on the previous day’s events, where the whips from both sides caused delays, Anutin considered such occurrences routine. When asked about his stance on reversing the royal decree to dissolve Parliament, Anutin deemed it inappropriate for discussion.
Looking ahead to September 5th, Anutin welcomed the nomination of Chaikasem Nitisiri by the Pheu Thai Party for the prime ministerial election, stating that having more choices benefits the populace.
