Army Commander Evaluates Border Operations and Reinforces Safety Protocols

Bangkok: The Army Commander conducted an inspection of the border patrol personnel and participated in water patrols to ensure the safety and efficiency of operations in the northeastern border region.

According to Thai News Agency, General Pana Klaewplodthuk, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army and Commander of the Royal Thai Army Operations Center, along with a group of Royal Thai Army commanders, visited military units in the border area on August 22-23, 2025. The visit was aimed at monitoring operations and encouraging personnel. Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of the 2nd Army Area, welcomed the delegation at Phu Makhuea Operations Base in Sisaket Province.

During the visit, the Commander-in-Chief expressed gratitude to the personnel for their dedication and urged them to prioritize safety by adhering to security measures and maintaining discipline. He emphasized the importance of coordination with higher units for additional support and the need for local units to stay updated on news to develop appropriate action plans.

On August 23, 2025, the Commander-in-Chief received a briefing on the medical services from Major General Narong Phakdisuphaphol, Director of Camp Suranaree Hospital. The briefing highlighted the preparedness of military hospitals to provide comprehensive healthcare for personnel in border areas, including the deployment of the Mental Health Assessment and Assistance Team (M-MCATT) for psychological assessments. The Commander-in-Chief commended the medical units for their efforts and stressed the importance of regular rehearsals to ensure compliance with standards.

The delegation also visited the Khong Chiam Naval Station in Ubon Ratchathani Province to inspect the operations of the Royal Thai Navy’s Mekong Riverine Peacekeeping Unit. The unit works in conjunction with the Suranaree Task Force to enhance security along the Thai-Lao border. The delegation participated in a water patrol to monitor the situation along the Mekong River and expressed appreciation for the dedication of border officials.
