Bangkok: “Bhumjaithai” is preparing to sue the 26th Investigation Committee on the issue of collusion with the Senate. Bhumjaithai Party spokesman reiterates that there was no discussion of cabinet reshuffle in the party meeting, only urging border MPs to go to the area to help the people, confirming that they will sue the 26th investigation committee for falsely reporting the issue of collusion in the selection of senators, requesting to protect and maintain the honor of the Bhumjaithai Party.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Nan Bunthida Somchai, MP for Ubon Ratchathani and spokesperson for the Bhumjaithai Party, announced after the meeting of the party’s executive committee and MPs that the Bhumjaithai Party meeting did not have any special agenda because it was a monthly party meeting during the parliamentary session break, namely to monitor the situation in the areas where MPs from the Bhumjaithai Party go to help people in their own areas and other nearby areas.
Issue 1: Security. The Bhumjaithai Party’s position is clear in maintaining Thailand’s sovereignty. As the party leader previously announced, he emphasized that MPs in areas or provinces adjacent to the border, especially MPs in the lower northeastern region, which borders neighboring countries, should understand the people or provide initial assistance. This is to enhance the people’s rights in terms of safety, by building shelters in various villages. The Bhumjaithai Party always confirms that we encourage all soldiers who are performing their duties to maintain the nation’s sovereignty and to encourage the people in areas near or along the border.
Issue 2: We have MPs and party members pay attention to natural disasters, epidemics, and rain. It is predicted that this year there will be flooding. In areas that have experienced flooding, the Bhumjaithai Party has assigned the MPs to understand the people, coordinate with government agencies, and provide assistance to the people as quickly as possible.
Issue 3: Economic disasters and livelihood problems: Go to the area to explain the government’s economic stimulus policy changes so that the people understand what the government is doing.
Another issue that is currently in the news is the case of the invitation letter to acknowledge the charges of the party leader and all executives of the Bhumjaithai Party. The Bhumjaithai Party is ready to clarify and is confident that it has not committed any wrongdoing as alleged. In the case that the Election Commission, by the 26th Central Investigation and Inquiry Committee, invited the party leader and executives to acknowledge the charges and clarify, present evidence to counter the charges regarding the selection of senators, everyone is ready to cooperate in clarifying the charges as invited. ‘I deny all charges because the party leader and executives of the Bhumjaithai Party, including all party members and MPs, did not participate in the selection of senators as alleged.’ The party leader also mentioned this issue in a party meeting since 2024, prohibiting party executives and MPs from doing anything that violates the Organic Act on the Acquisition of Senators B.E. 2561 and related laws. This is a
statement of the party leader’s intention, and all members have strictly complied with the leader’s announcement.
Therefore, the allegations that have been reported are 4 issues: 1. Involvement in the selection of members at the district, provincial and national levels 2. Payment of money as wages and expenses for the selection of senators 3. Creating a collusion list for the selection of senators 4. Having candidates for senators who have passed the provincial selection write resignations in advance without a date.
These four issues make the selection of senators dishonest. This is the allegation that the investigation subcommittee has informed the party leader and all party executives. The allegation of wrongdoing is a violation of the fundamental principles of the democratic regime with the King as Head of State. It is a serious and serious allegation.
For the Bhumjaithai Party, the intention and ideology have always been to adhere to the principles of a democratic regime with the King as Head of State. All party leaders and party executives who were accused exercised their legal rights to protect and preserve their own honor.
The Bhumjaithai Party would like to inform that all party leaders and executives have received the same letter of accusation. The notice of all accusations is a description, without details, and does not specify the behavior and date of the alleged offense. This is different from the accusation that the Election Commission has always conducted in all past elections. When the EC issues the accusation, each time it clearly states the behavior of the alleged offense, such as the person’s name, surname, how the offense was committed, the date, month, year, and location. However, the accusation this time does not contain details and no evidence to support the accusation. The Bhumjaithai Party has noted that the content of the accusation against the party leader and executives this time is similar to the content that Pol. Lt. Gen. Khamrob Panya Kaew, a reserve police officer, and Mr. Nattaporn Toprayoon have complained to the Department of Special Investigation, the EC, the Constitutional Court, and the National An
ti-Corruption Commission (NACC) have given information to the media many times that they received information from the Department of Special Investigation, which has 3 DSI employees on the investigation committee. In addition, the investigation officers’ behavior is strange and different from the EC’s standard.
In addition, the Bhumjaithai Party has noted that the meeting and the investigation of the 26th group were led or influenced by the investigators of the Department of Special Investigation. What happened to the party leader and the party executive committee was in accordance with what the party leader had answered to the media about whether or not they were involved in politics. It was in accordance with the plan to dissolve the Bhumjaithai Party. It was noted that the charges filed this time that they were jointly wrongdoing were carried out as a group, both those who were open and those who were still secretive.
“The party leader and the party executives will exercise their rights to take legal action against false accusations to the fullest extent of the law in order to protect the rights and honor of the Bhumjaithai Party,” said the Bhumjaithai Party spokesman.
When asked if the MPs did not ask the party leader about the political situation in the cabinet reshuffle, the Bhumjaithai Party spokesperson revealed that this issue was not discussed. We consider that the party leader gives interviews and answers the media every time. Mr. Anutin is still determined in his work and is confident that his work as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has been proven to the public. The issue that he said he did not discuss the cabinet reshuffle is not true. This time is probably not the right time to consider the cabinet reshuffle. The current situation in the country is only about the economy, security threats, natural disasters, epidemics, and economic threats. This reshuffle is like starting a new leader, like starting from scratch. We have to look at it from another angle that the public cannot wait for someone to start from scratch and start working again.
When asked if the Bhumjaithai Party spokesperson was included in the summons this time, Ms. Nan revealed that the process of informing the leader and executives of the Bhumjaithai Party of the charges, we see it as a political criterion to try to dissolve the Bhumjaithai Party. And when asked if her name appeared in almost every media outlet as one of the many people who were summoned in the 7th batch, I would like to confirm that I was not summoned, there was no summons. The content of the invitation to acknowledge the charges of the leader and executives of the party were all the same, the same charges, the same letters, only the names and positions of each person who was summoned, making another perspective that the position of spokesperson of the Bhumjaithai Party was not in the party executive committee. This time, the focus was only on the party executive committee.
‘It is an interesting point to consider the prudence in inviting the party leaders and executive committee to acknowledge the charges, but the documents of many people are incomplete. Regardless, we confirm that we will exercise our rights to protect and maintain the honor of everyone and the Bhumjaithai Party,’ said the Bhumjaithai Party spokesman.
