Bangkok: Bhumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, took a pivotal step in advancing the Pheu Thai Party's political strategy by leading discussions with the Prachachon Party. The aim of these talks is to garner support for Chaikasem Nitisiri, the Pheu Thai Party's candidate, to become the 32nd Prime Minister.
According to Thai News Agency, a significant meeting is set to take place between the Pheu Thai Party and the Prachachon Party at 2:00 PM at the Prachachon Party headquarters. Key figures from the Pheu Thai Party, including Sorawong Thienthong, Chusak Sirinil, Chulphan Amornvivat, and Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, will be present. In attendance will also be representatives from coalition parties, such as Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong from the Prachachat Party and Decha Isara Khaothong from the Democrat Party.
Bhumtham Wechayachai's commitment to these discussions was underscored by his decision to forgo attending a National Police Commission meeting scheduled for the same day at 3:00 PM. His focus remains on securing the necessary support for Chaikasem's candidacy.
Adding to the political maneuvering, Nattawut Saikua highlighted Bhumtham's dedication through a Facebook post, noting his absence from the Police Commission meeting to prioritize the talks with the Prachachon Party and his team.
Representatives from the People's Party, including Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, Sarayut Jai-lak, and Picharn Chaowapatanawong, were also reported to be part of this crucial discussion, signaling a broad engagement across political lines.
