Bangkok: The Thai Bankers Association has temporarily closed 35 branches in the Thai-Cambodian border area for the safety of customers and the public. The unrest situation in this region has resulted in damage to life, property, and the livelihoods of local people.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phayon Srivanich, Chairman of the Thai Bankers Association, stated that both the association and its member banks are closely monitoring the situation. They are preparing emergency response measures, prioritizing the safety of customers, employees, and officials in the affected areas. As part of these measures, the association decided to adjust the opening and closing hours of branches and ATMs in risk areas. As of July 24, 2025, a total of 35 branches in the provinces of Surin, Buriram, Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat have been closed.
The affected branches include 5 from Kasikorn Bank, 2 from Bank of Ayudhya, 4 from Bangkok Bank, 14 from Krungthai Bank, 4 from Siam Commercial Bank, and 6 from Thai Credit Bank. Despite these closures, customers are encouraged to conduct financial transactions using alternative channels such as Mobile Banking and Internet Banking. Information on branch operations and hours can be accessed via the banks' websites, social media, and call centers, allowing customers to plan their transactions accordingly.
The Thai Bankers Association also expressed condolences to the families affected by the unrest and sent encouragement to soldiers, officers, and local people. The association affirmed its commitment to standing with the Thai people to overcome the crisis.
