Bustling Turnout at Sisaket MP By-Election as Voters Exercise Rights Early

Sisaket: The by-election for Constituency 5 in Sisaket Province’s Khun Han District was marked by lively participation as voters began to exercise their rights early this morning. Despite concerns about potential unrest, many citizens were determined to cast their votes.

According to Thai News Agency, at 8:00 a.m. at Polling Station 6, located at Ban Chaniao Temple Hall, officials declared their readiness and opened the ballot boxes. A significant number of voters, particularly elderly citizens, had been waiting patiently even before the polling station officially opened its doors.

In the vicinity, security measures were visibly in place with police officers, village defense volunteers, and volunteers from the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps ensuring the process proceeded smoothly. Villagers expressed a sense of reassurance in the government’s management of the election process, emphasizing their resolve to participate in the democratic exercise despite initial concerns.

Mr. Saeng Boonmee, the Secretary-General of the Election Commission, was also present at the polling station to oversee and inspect the election proceedings.
