Chaikasem Asserts Readiness for Prime Minister Role Amid Speculation

Bangkok: Chaikasem Nitisiri, the Pheu Thai Party’s candidate for Prime Minister, has reaffirmed his readiness to assume the top political position, emphasizing the uncertainty inherent in political affairs.

According to Thai News Agency, Chaikasem arrived at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters at 2:00 PM, where he was met by reporters eager for an interview. However, he declined to provide comments at that time, stating he would speak to them later.

In a light-hearted moment, when asked about the possibility of a “knight on a white horse” scenario, Chaikasem laughed and humorously questioned the media, “Do I have a horse?” He reiterated the unpredictability of the world, implying that nothing can be taken for granted in politics.

Chaikasem also addressed a recent visit by Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice and leader of the Prachachat Party, to his residence. He described the encounter as merely a conversation, offering no further details on the meeting.

When pressed by reporters about his readiness to become Prime Minister, Chaikasem confidently replied, “Yes, I am. How could I not be ready?” He clarified that the day’s meeting was merely a general discussion without any significant developments.

Party officials subsequently requested that the media refrain from conducting interviews until the conclusion of the meeting.
