Chalermchai Denies Talks of Democrat Party Alliance with Bhumjaithai Party

Bangkok: Chalermchai Sri-on, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and leader of the Democrat Party, has clarified that he has not engaged in discussions with Decha Isara regarding an alliance with the Bhumjaithai Party. Despite the lack of talks, Chalermchai affirmed the readiness of the Democrat Party for elections if parliament is dissolved.

According to Thai News Agency, Chalermchai addressed concerns raised by Decha Isara Khaothong, Deputy Minister of the Interior and Secretary-General of the Democrat Party. Decha had indicated he would resign if the Democrat Party formed an alliance with the Bhumjaithai Party. Chalermchai confirmed that no discussions had taken place on this matter.

In response to questions about whether Decha’s statement would hinder a potential alliance with the Bhumjaithai Party, Chalermchai reiterated that there had been no discussions on the topic. He maintained that the focus remains on being prepared for any electoral eventualities.

Chalermchai further emphasized the Democrat Party’s readiness, smiling as he noted that all political parties should be prepared if parliament is dissolved.
