Bangkok: The Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2 has assured fairness to all parties involved in a high-profile case where a Senate subcommittee advisor has accused a senator of indecent conduct. The case has faced delays due to the senator’s parliamentary commitments and privileges, which have postponed the issuance of a summons for a statement. However, officials have indicated that the senator can provide a statement once he is ready.
According to Thai News Agency, the complaint was lodged by a Senate Subcommittee Advisor who accused the senator of committing indecent acts against a person over the age of 15 using force and violence. The incident reportedly took place on May 8, 2025, at a condominium in the Bang Sue area of Bangkok. The advisor later sought legal counsel and announced plans to hold a press conference and submit a complaint letter on ethics at the Parliament building, asserting a commitment to pursuing the case to the full extent of the law.
Pol. Col. Jessada Suaysom, the Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2, visited Tao Poon Police Station to monitor the case progress. He disclosed that the police have been actively investigating since the report on May 8, taking witness testimonies and gathering evidence. However, the process of inviting both the accuser and the accused for statements has been delayed until the parliamentary session concludes at the end of October. The senator’s parliamentary privileges prevent immediate summons, but he may give a statement voluntarily if he chooses.
The accuser has provided police with video evidence and a medical certificate from the Police General Hospital. Additionally, the Forensic Science Institute has collected scientific evidence from the site. While the medical examination results remain confidential, they are described as neutral.
Pol. Lt. Col. Jessada reassured the public that the case’s evidence, both scientific and otherwise, is robust, and he expressed confidence that the truth will surface. He urged officers to diligently establish the facts, noting that no charges have been filed against any party at this stage.
