Bangkok: The Crime Suppression Division is set to conclude the assault case involving Mr. Siradanai, known as S.J. Golf, and forward it to the public prosecutor on June 18th.
According to Thai News Agency, this move comes after a detailed investigation into the incident where S.J. Golf allegedly ordered six subordinates to attack Pol.L.t. Nisathi Kongthep, a Border Patrol Policeman, at a polling station in Mueang Songkhla District on May 11th.
Pol. Gen. Thanayut Wuticharasathamrong, leading the investigation team, confirmed that a meeting was held to summarize the case against S.J. Golf and his associates. The investigation has resulted in plans to indict 10 individuals. Charges against eight subordinates include multiple offenses such as assaulting an officer with premeditation and obstructing an officer. S.J. Golf and a close subordinate face charges related to instigating these offenses and disobeying an officer’s order. The police are confident in the strength of the evidence gathered, which includes forensic and physical proof.
Of the 10 suspects, nine have been arrested, with one still at large. This individual is linked to both the assault and an online gambling operation. Pol. Maj. Gen. Tingkorn Rangmat has disclosed a connection between S.J. Golf’s group and an online gambling website, with two suspects involved and six out of 20 supporters already arrested. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals.
The investigation has also uncovered a financial trail, prompting the involvement of the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) to further probe and potentially seize assets related to money laundering activities. The police remain committed to pursuing any individuals implicated in these financial dealings without exception.
