Digital Intelligence Initiative DQ Power Aims to Bolster Networks and Digital Resilience

Bangkok: The Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) and the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) have joined forces to launch an initiative named DQ Power, with the goal of strengthening networks and building digital immunity. This initiative is designed to enhance intelligence and combat cyber threats in an increasingly AI-driven world. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prawit Erawan, Secretary-General of the National Education Council, presided over an event where he presented certificates to participating educational institutions in the “DQ Open Innovation 2025” activity as part of an academic conference titled “DQ Power, Empowering Digital Intelligence Networks in the AI Era.”

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Prawit highlighted the significance of living in both the physical and digital worlds, especially as children spend more time in the latter. He emphasized the need for education to strike a balance between these realms, fostering a mindset of creation rather than consumption among students. This shift aims to empower children to become creators of new technologies, rather than mere users. He pointed out the necessity of improving the education system to keep pace with the rapidly changing world, advocating for greater openness and flexibility to cater to children’s diverse abilities. Key issues discussed included the development of future-oriented assessment systems, efficient resource management, and the recruitment of talented teachers to fully unlock children’s potential.

Dr. Niti Nachit, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Education Council, underscored the event’s focus on leveraging Digital Quotient (DQ) or digital intelligence as the foundation for educational development in the AI era. He acknowledged the rapid pace of educational change, which often leaves little time to adapt to new developments. To address this, educational institutions have embraced the DQ concept, implementing it in their work and administration. The initiative involves knowledge exchange, exhibitions, and the extraction of lessons learned from successes to enhance future educational practices. The overarching aim is to elevate the quality of learners and equip them to navigate the digital world safely and effectively. Recognizing the importance of this initiative, the Office has integrated the concept at a practical level for ongoing collaborative development.

The event also featured a seminar on “Developing Open Innovation for Digital Intelligence (DQ Open Innovation 2025),” which showcased innovative projects from schools and various agencies.
