Eastern Forces Grants Exemption to Goods Transport Vehicles Crossing the Border

Burapha: Burapha Forces have relaxed the rules for goods transport vehicles to pass through three Thai-Cambodian border checkpoints, limiting the time and number of vehicles, starting today and to be completed within seven days, to reduce the impact on the people’s suffering in accordance with humanitarian principles.

According to Thai News Agency, the Burapha Task Force issued an announcement on the control of the Thai-Cambodian border checkpoints. The Prime Minister traveled to inspect the work and held a meeting on June 26, 2025, to discuss the impact of the Thai-Cambodian border checkpoint control measures. During this meeting, security agencies were ordered to collaborate with relevant government agencies to assist those affected by the border control measures. The Special Operations Center for the Administration of the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation, in a meeting held on June 27, 2025, resolved to grant an exemption for Thai freight vehicles that are stranded and those vehicles listed in the export or transit goods declaration submitted to the Customs Department’s computer system before June 25, 2025, allowing them to cross into Cambodia and return to Thailand.

To reduce the impact on the people’s suffering and ensure consistency with the control operation outlined in Section 1, the Burapha Task Force aims to coordinate with relevant units to allow specific border crossing activities. No more than 50 vehicles per day will be permitted to enter and exit the permanent border crossings at the Thai-Cambodian Friendship Bridge, Ban Nong Ian-Stung Bot, and Ban Khao Din between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Additionally, at the Ban Nong Prue trade relaxation point, a maximum of 20 vehicles per day are allowed to cross from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Freight vehicles that have transported goods according to the specified points and those that have not returned since June 23, 2025, can return to Thailand, provided no goods are brought back with them. The responsible units are to commence actions as outlined in Section 3 immediately and complete them within seven days.
