Education Minister Narumon Attends Royal Cremation Ceremony for Thai-Cambodian Clash Victims

Bangkok: Education Minister Narumon attended the royal cremation ceremony for victims of the Thai-Cambodian border clashes.

According to Thai News Agency, the Thammanat Foundation is swiftly working to construct a new house for “Grandma Saton” to restore morale and hope to those affected by the conflict.

His Majesty the King graciously presided over the cremation ceremony for Mr. Bandit Ounjit and Mr. Thitiwat Buntaeng, who died during the unrest in the Thai-Cambodian border provinces. Ms. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education and leader of the Kla Tham Party, presided over the ceremony. Attendees included Ms. Linthiporn Warinwatcharoj, Deputy Minister of Education, Mr. Suthep Kaengsanthia, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Lt. Col. Thanu Wongchinda, Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission, and relatives of the deceased.

Ms. Narumon expressed her condolences to the bereaved families and stated that the Ministry of Education stands with them, offering support and encouragement to overcome this loss. Financial assistance and compensation have been provided to the families of the deceased, as approved by the Cabinet.

After the ceremony, Ms. Narumon revealed that Thitiwat Buntaeng, also known as Nong Namkhong, died in the BM-21 bombing at Ban Chorok, Dan Subdistrict, Kab Choeng District. He was the nephew of Mr. Suthir and Mrs. Saton Kanphai. The family suffered a heavy loss, including the death of their nephew and serious injuries to other family members. Their homes and equipment were also completely destroyed.

“I, along with the Thammanat Prompao Foundation for Charity, have jointly built a new house for Grandma Saton Kanpai and her family, who are still traumatized by the incident. The foundation is closely monitoring the project to ensure its completion as quickly as possible, and is providing them with essential supplies and cooking utensils,” stated Ms. Narumon.

Ms. Narumon emphasized that this assistance is not just about building houses but also about building morale and encouragement for bereaved families to regain stability and safety in their lives.
