Bangkok: Flash floods swept through Phrae Province in the middle of the night in Village No. 9 and Village No. 1, Pai Thon Subdistrict, Rong Kwang District. Officials had to rush to evacuate residents, but during the evacuation, the current was too strong, causing villagers who were crossing the river to be swept away and trapped on the other side. Fortunately, villagers were able to throw ropes to rescue them in time.
According to Thai News Agency, last night’s floodwaters were very strong, and villagers were unable to collect their belongings in time. Many cars and belongings were damaged, but no injuries or deaths have been reported.
Regarding the rain that fell in Phrae Province, particularly in Huai Rong and Phai Thon subdistricts, at 8:00 PM, the accumulated rainfall over the past 24 hours reached a maximum of 130 mm. The Yom River is rising rapidly. At Y20, the water level at Ban Huai Sak station measured 7.58 meters above the 9.00 meter bank level at 10:00 PM. If the rain continues, causing the Yom River to rise, it could result in a second wave of flooding.
